Duda Penteado’s Beauty for Ashes Project addresses the dilemma artists have when confronting great tragedy and how to respond creatively in their art. Many contemporary artists have issues finding their own voice after the diverse art movements of the 20th century.

In this project Duda frankly appropriates and transforms the work of great modern artists, creating unique imageries relevant for the 21st century. His Beauty for Ashes project reflects art that moves beyond the individual, into an aesthetic embedded in a network of global creativity.
